When LIEDKRaFT saunters onto the concert stage, Sunday, November 7th at 3PM, it is first and foremost because we can't help ourselves. The desire to share what we do best with our audience is the driving force behind the establishment of the ensemble and it is this desire that will be the basis for our future work together.

LIEDKRaFT is the name of a new ensemble, consisting of two noteworthy names from the danish opera world: Norwegian Soprano Liv Oddveig Midtmageli and Danish Baritone Johannes Mannov, accompanied by German Pianist Ingo Schauser.

LIEDKRaFT will focus primarily on "Lied", classical songs from the German language tradition, but we won't stop there. Vocal delicacies in many forms from all epochs will be served in LIEDKRaFT's own arrangements, and will include close collaboration with Danish composers, giving new Danish music a distinctive place in LIEDKRaFT's repertoire.

LIEDKRaFT seeks borders. The edge is our goal: in repertoire, expression and form. When we reach out past the stage and our audience creeps forward to the edge of their seats, LIEDKRaFT is in its element. And we're convinced that this is the space in which our audience wants to meet us.
